Janice is a famous pastry chef and she was born and brought up in Singapore. It is known that she owns some of the best pastry shops in the world and the details of the same are mentioned in the career section.
It is known that she completed her graduation from Monash University in Melbourne and she received her degree in 2005 in economics. Later, as her interest grew in food, she took admission in Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
At present, Janice owns three pastry shops and the name of those are 2am: Dessert Bar, 2am: Lab and Janice Wong Sweet Shop. 2 am: Dessert Bar is located in Holland Village whereas Janice Wong Sweet Shop is located at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. It is also known that she had greatly been influenced by Ferran Adria and Grant Achatz and that eventually helped her in establishing her own sweet shop in 2002. Most of her shops focus on pastries and they are quite decorative. She also opened a dessert bar in Melbourne and she made great efforts to localize the menu over there. As per the records, she also appeared in Master Chef Australia Season 7 and on the show, she was a guest judge who challenged the contestants to make Cassis Plum. In 2011, she also launched a cookbook and the name of the book is Perfection in Imperfection, later in 2013, she co-authored a book called Dim Sum. Janice also received several awards and some of the awards she had been honored with are Pastry Chef of the Year which was presented during World Gourmet Summit Awards. Janice received this award in 2011, 2013, 2015. The list doesn’t end here. She also received the award for Best Restaurant in IS Magazine Award and she received the award for three years between 2012 and 2014. She was also given the title of Young Women of the Year in 2012 and later in 2013, she received the award of Asia’s Best Pastry Chef. The award was sponsored by Restaurant Magazine. She received the same award in 2014 as well.
